The Kim Research Laboratory focuses on the intersection of forensic intervention, justice responses, capacity-building, and survivor needs to improve methods and medico-legal models used to address violence, crime, and mass fatality.

What We've Achieved

  • Forensic anthropology and archaeology training workshops for pathologists, law enforcement officers, and NGOs in Uganda and the US*

  • Transitional justice, forensic biology, and anthropology sensitization and capacity-building for rural Ugandans*

  • Assistance with justice goals via completion of archaeological site surveys*

  • Organizational assessment/recommendations for strategic planning for diverse agencies serving survivors of human trafficking in NW Ohio

  • Shared survivor perceptions of transitional justice efficacy at over 25 Aboriginal Friendship Centers throughout Canada

  • Analyzed disaster preparedness, response, and recovery for emergency management services in Tennessee**

  • Dissemination of findings through professional and public presentations

  • Public outreach regarding forensic services, justice models, & human trafficking
